THE SHAPE UP STUDIO is a privately owned dual level, boutique-style personal training studio that returns pleasure, diversity, quality, elegance and education back into fitness and removes the stagnation often found within large health clubs and many typical workout experiences. Our unique fitness philosophy enables us to touch on all aspects of fitness in a variety of fun and dynamic ways. Our training style, atmosphere, and facility separate us from other fitness studios, but it’s our dedication to our clients and our creativity that really set us apart. Individual Personal Training

Private Training is an effective way to reach and exceed your fitness goals. A personalized training program is created and tailored to a clients’s fitness level, weaknesses, plans and goals. Attention to detail is paid to each and every exercise assuring that all training is done with precision and control. Accountability, consistent support and motivation is provided to help you achieve the results that you cannot achieve on your own. All sessions are 55 minutes in duration.

Duet Personal Training

Duets are personal training sessions conducted with 2 clients who have similar fitness levels and goals. They are identical to personal training sessions in every way with the added benefit of setting and reaching goals with a partner. Sessions are 55 minutes long.

Individual Pilates Sessions

Pilates is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training that improves
posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates works several muscle groups simultaneously through smooth, continuous motion, with a particular concentration on strengthening and stabilizing the core (the abdomen, back and pelvic girdle region, sometimes referred to as the “powerhouse”).

The focus is on quality of movement rather than quantity, which makes one feel invigorated rather than exhausted after a session. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body works as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.

With regular committed Pilates workouts you can expect to:

  • Tone and build long, lean muscles without bulk
  • Challenge deep abdominal muscles to support the core
  • Engage the mind and enhance body awareness
  • Efficient patterns of movement making the body less prone to injury
  • Restore postural alignment
  • Pilates sessions are 50 minutes long

BASI Pilates preserves the classical repertoire and the essence of Joseph Pilates’ philosophy while supplementing it with the contemporary experience and scientific knowledge. BASI Pilates endeavors to grow in substance, not only in size, and will always strive to be true to art, science, and knowledge; and to the intentions of Joseph and Clara Pilates.

Mat Training with Props

Pilates Mat Training will take you through a dynamic, full-body workout that focuses on improving flexibility and core strength, with exercises that stretch and tone all muscle groups. Training varies from session to session to include, Stability Balls, Foam Rollers, Flex-Band* exercisers, Toning Balls, Fitness Circle® resistance rings, and BOSU** balance trainers.

Barre Training

Unlike other exercise programs that target the major muscle groups, Barre training focuses on the smaller accessory muscles and isometric movements at the ballet barre to tone, tighten, and lift your booty. This challenging ballet-inspired training, incorporates the use of Thera-Bands, Mini-Balls, and light weights to give you long lean muscles without bulk.

Barre sessions are 55 minutes long.
